17. Pina (2011)
This movie is that rare combination of beauty and gimmick. At its heart, Pina really is a wonderful tribute to the late choreographer Pina Bausch, and manages to be both sweet and fascinating. The gimmick comes in with the 3-D element, and it’s a gimmick that works really well. It draws you in, and actually brings (pardon the pun) a new dimension to the dances being presented on screen. It’s a really fascinating work and worth seeing while it’s still playing in theaters.
