19. In Her Shoes (2005)
Look at the poster for this movie. Now, believe me when I tell you it’s not some sassy comedy about women addicted to their shoes. Seriously, what was wrong with the marketing department on this film? Why didn’t they want anyone to see it?
I actually liked this movie a lot. It’s much more dramedy than comedy, but it’s not at all silly or whimsical. Toni Collette is awesome (as usual) and Cameron Diaz is surprisingly tolerable playing a woman who’s very much a screw up. If you’ve ever had a sibling like that, this movie is very relatable. It’s hard to watch them mess up over and over again, and even though you love them, you can only let them fuck up your life so much before you crack. That’s basically the premise of this film, but not the only thing it’s about. All in all, a nice little film.
